CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. – A symbol of the birth of 4-State television is about to disappear at KOAM.

The old film footage above shows the construction of the very first television tower in the 4-State area – 69 years ago. It stands 500-feet tall.

In 1961, KOAM built another tower right next to it. This one is 1,000-feet tall.

Now, one is coming down and the other is getting more power.
