Construction is nearing completion on 1661 Madison Avenue, a eight-story residential building in East Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by ARC Architecture Design Studios and developed by A&R Properties Group, the structure will yield 14 rental units. Construction Experts LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 111th Street to the north and Tito Puente Way to the south.

Recent photographs show the 25-foot-wide structure’s symmetrical façade composed of dark metal framing floor-to-ceiling windows, with a contrasting vertical strip of wood paneling running down the centerline. Sidewalk scaffolding surrounds the building as work wraps up on the ground floor, but should be dismantled in the coming weeks. The site is located one block north of 20 East 110th Street, aka 1650 Madison Avenue, another ongoing project from the same design and development team.

Permits for 1661 Madison Avenue indicate two units per level and residential amenities including a bicycle storage room, a package room, and a shared outdoor rooftop deck. The closest subway from the property is the local 6 train to the east at the 110th Street station along Lexington Avenue. The 2 and 3 trains are also nearby at the Central Park North-110th Street station to the west along Malcolm X Boulevard. Central Park is within walking distance of the development.

A former completion date of summer 2022 was posted on the construction board, but YIMBY estimates work will wrap up toward the end of the year.

Are you accepting vouchers. Do you have any 1 bedroom apartments.?

The wood in the center is an interesting touch.

Like the fake wood laminate on the buses from the 80s.

My grandma had a white station wagon with the wood paneled doors—faux rumble seat in back—still miss that land yacht! But paneling aside, this building is pretty slick—god knows we’ve seen much worse!

Yes yes I like it how can I get an application to one of these appartment. Thank you

I like to apply or application, can you help. Thank you
