Three teenagers, aged 17, 16 and 14, were arrested by the Royal Gibraltar Police on Tuesday night after their car crashed into a railing and knocked over a lamp-post.

The RGP say the car was spotted driving erratically at just after midnight, and speeded off down Queensway after it was signalled to stop.

Just opposite MidTown, the driver reportedly lost control, crashing into a railing and knocking over a lamppost, before rolling across the road and crashing into a planter.

The car suffered extensive damage.

The occupants escaped, but were soon arrested on suspicion of taking a conveyance.

A 17 year old was also arrested for failing to stop, and underage and dangerous driving.

One of the teenagers suffered minor injuries, and no pedestrians were hurt.

All three have been interviewed and bailed out pending further enquiries.

This follows another traffic accident early on Tuesday morning, which saw a 26 year old Spanish resident crash into a lamp-post and a tree on Queensway, also causing extensive damage to the car.

The driver was not injured; he blew zero on a roadside alcohol breath test, and was reported for careless driving.
